Discover Putty Retreats

Our retreats are designed to let you immerse in nature which is a great way to shift your nervous system in to relaxation.

Choose what you’d like: moving meditation, a get-it-done week, sunrise or sunset views, embodiment training, a sound bath, alone time, and various escorted trips through our private conservation site. We’ll create the perfect week for you together.

Each retreat includes comfortable accommodations and catering options, plus a variety of add-ons for more rejuvenation. (Accommodation only is also available. Contact us for dates.)

The Magpie Nest property is eighty acres, rural land with shaded bushwalking and lots of wildlife but there’s also plumbing and wifi. Dark Arm Valley is the five-hundred-acre private wilderness where you can hike, paint, swing in a hammock, and take a dip in the creek, but there’s no power or cell service.

Putty Retreats has different levels of support available -- choose the one that suits you.

Self-guided retreats with catering

These retreats include accommodation and catering and leave you alone to work on your own projects or your own relaxation.

Putty Retreats has two properties

Magpie Nest is on the rural property

The Ranch is your home base for the week. This eighty-acre property includes the guest cottage, movement studio, plus another house, farm workshops. There's power, flushing toilets, wifi, and modern conveniences. There are tracks for walking through serene variations including open paddock, woods, two dams, sandy soil, and rocky landscapes. Wildlife is abundant including kangaroos, kookaburras, and of course magpies.

Dark Arm Valley is the wilderness

Let us take you to Dark Arm Valley, the pristine wilderness about 45 minutes away on 4wd track. You'll have five hundred acres to explore with different areas for bushwalking as well as access to the Wollemi creek. Wildlife is abundant here and includes eleven threatened or endangered species. You might see a bandicoot, a rock wallaby, a microbat, a platypus, even a koala.

What makes this place special?

A real break from the day-to-day

Is "exhausted" the first thing you think of when someone asks how you are? It's time for a real break.

Let yourself be pampered. Let yourself sit and stare at the trees for a while. Let yourself walk in the shade and cool your feet in the creek. Let someone else take care of you.

Paradoxically, you'll be setting yourself up for a great burst of productivity and creative ideas when you allow yourself to rest and unplug first.

Wilderness Immersion

Dark Arm Valley is five hundred un-spoiled acres entirely private. Enjoy a rest in this remote location listening to the breeze in the trees and birds singing. Walk along the rocks or climb down to the creek. You might even spot a platypus!

Eleven threatened or endangered species share this space so it's designed for us to have an intimate nature encounter with as little disturbance as possible.

We'll deliver you and pick you up.

Cozy rural accommodation

You'll stay in this newly renovated cottage which is "on the grid" with electricity, plumbing, and wifi. It's also on the sealed road so you'll have no problem getting there. Stay in the cottage and get your book finished or use this as home base to explore the valley.

One to four people can share the three-bedroom cottage. Shared bathroom with separate shower and bathtub and the toilet in another room. Full kitchen with implements, pans, and condiments.

See below for more photos of the cottage.
